Google Backlink Update: Feb 05

It seems that Google is doing a back link update. I noticed it last night with a rise in my SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) and a corresponding rise in traffic on a couple of my sites. The increased traffic was coming from Google which is usually an indication that an update is underway. Its not back up to the levels of traffic that I had after the pre Christmas update (which knocked off two thirds of my traffic overnight) but its a step in the right direction and something of a relief for me.

The backlinks of my photo website are not yet updated.
I have about 4000 internal backlinks;
before Christmas Google found overall 19 backlinks,
after the end of the year they were 395,
now they are still 395.

Thanks! I thought we were getting close to an update from Google.. plugged in a few keywords and here was your site. My suspicions confirmed.

Yesterday night the number of referrals of my website has changed !!!

I hate how Google is so slow at updating backlinks… MSN has me down with around two dozen, and google shows none. It really makes the first couple of months difficult…
